Psychotherapy Madison WI Art Therapy Candace LCSW FDC

I am from originally from Connecticut, and have resided in Wisconsin for the past 20 years. For over 25 years I’ve spent time working — in both CT and WI — with individual clients, families, supervising staff, training other mental health professionals, leading mental health efforts at Ground Zero during 9-11, and working with multidisciplinary teams.

I became a therapist because I wanted to see my work have a direct, positive impact on the lives of others. I love problem solving, and it’s so satisfying and rewarding to work with people and help them make real differences in their lives. Knowing I’ve been able to help someone realize success is the most amazing feeling.

I particularly enjoy helping others work through pain like anxiety, trauma and depression. In addition to psychological issues, I enjoy helping others reduce or prevent physical pain, process and combat medical issues including grief and loss, and reevaluate priorities through life’s transitions. Our minds have an amazing way of helping us reframe negatives into positives — sometimes we just need a little bit of help to get there.

If there’s one thing therapy has taught me, it’s that nobody wants to fail. Everyone wants to be successful, but sometimes we need help defining a clear path on how to get there. I’m happy to be that outside, professional perspective that you can trust and rely on. We all need to process things and we all need help during various times in our lives. I love helping clients create a toolbox to live successfully, and I believe that everyone deserves to live their best life and feel good about it.

No day is all good or all bad, but our perspective significantly impacts our quality of life.
